Vintage Couples

This fixation on old photographs of couples is growing stronger. I've got about 30 of them tacked to my wall. I think it's because, while we're viewing an intimate relationship between two people, someone is always there to take the photograph. As the viewer, we take the place of that third. I've been collecting those cheesy composed look at us hugging and smiling in front of some recognizable landmark. I found this one on eBay.

That's snow, not sand... They must be German. It's like eating a York Peppermint Patty... Or a Werther's.
